Enter the weights month by month, see how much it gained or lost in each month and the average per month, and print a PDF report for the owner.
When a goat, sheep, cow or buffalo comes to your farm for feeding, type the owner's name, then the weight on the day it arrived. Every month, weigh the animal and add the new weight. The page works out how much weight was gained or lost in each month, and the average gain per month, as you type.
When you are done, press Print or save as PDF. You get a clean one page report with the owner's name, the animal, a weight chart, the gain in every month and a place for signatures. Give it to the owner or keep it in your file.
Owners who give an animal for feeding want to know it is being looked after. A printed record with real weights and dates answers that question without an argument. It also shows you which animals grow well on your feed, and which ones need a change in feed or a check by the doctor. A month with a loss in weight is an early sign that something is wrong.
It depends on the breed, the age of the animal and the feed. As a rough guide, a well fed young goat often gains about 80 to 150 grams a day, while many local breeds gain less. Cattle and buffalo gain far more each day than goats. Compare an animal with others of the same breed and age on the same feed, rather than with a fixed number.
Every record is saved on your own phone or computer as you type, and you can keep many animals and switch between them from the list at the top. Records are not sent anywhere. If you clear your browser data they are removed, so print the report for each animal as well.
