What is on the page

  • Your currencies: keep a short list, such as USD, AED, SAR and GBP, and see your amount in all of them at once.
  • Check your bank or app rate: type the rate your bank or money transfer app gave you, and the page shows how much less you got than at the real rate.
  • Popular pairs: one tap for dollar, dirham, riyal, pound, euro and more against the rupee.
  • All currencies: search the full list of about 160 currencies.

About the rates

The rate shown is the market middle rate, the one banks use between each other. It is the fair price. When you send money or buy cash, your bank or exchange shop usually gives a worse rate and may add a fee, and that gap is how they earn. The bank rate checker above shows you the size of that gap in rupees and in percent, so you can compare two apps before you send.

Rates update once or a few times a day. If your internet is off, the page shows the last saved rates and tells you the date they are from.

Tips for sending money abroad

  • Compare the final amount received, not only the fee. A zero fee offer can hide a poor rate.
  • Check the rate at the moment you pay. It can change between morning and evening.
  • For large amounts, even a small difference in the rate adds up. One percent on 5 lakh rupees is 5,000 rupees.
